Mastodon's new single is a fucking beast. Starting off with a creepy snake charmer esque riff, it goes into the musical equivalent of a wrestling match between the Devil and Jay Curran , before the what must surely be impossible drum roll takes it into the main, runaway train-on-fire riff. The chorus is pleasingly melodic, and the bridge will tear off your head.

The new album, Crack The Skye, will be released on March 24th. If the album is as strong as this, Jay help us all.

Brilliant.

1000 Horses Can't Be Wrong

Filthy. The new tune from Simian Mobile Disco starts off pretty reservedly, with a few trademark blip blops. It then goes all, "Oh yeah, thats Simian Mobile Disco". At a beefy six minutes it ain't gonna be an insta hit, but pretty nice to see something from the likeable nerds of eletronic musask.

This ain't a review......this album has been out for 10 years, and I doubt even my Shakespearean way with words is going to change anyones opinion. Simply here because I haven't been able to listen to much else the past two weeks. Catchy as fuck, (see: "Shakespearean") and with a sense of humour throughout, it really is my kind of album. Although...i'm pretty sure it's not that great. Hes not an incredible singer, and although the world is short of white guitar bands, (LOL) there's nothing that points to this having changed the world.

Regardless, this has been rocking my world for the last couple of weeks, (wouldn't take much) and will definetely continue to do so. Until ASIWYFA release something new, or Bloc Party go back to being good.

So I started a blog so I did, an internet deadspace where I can grumble to myself about life's misgivings, talk about that reeeeallly good new remix by Soulwax, that reeeeally lame new remix by Justice, and whatever else I feel like. A certain Northern Irish instrumental band are also likely to be mentioned quite a bit.
